Pacific Mission Aviation (PMA)
Pacific Mission Aviation flies from Yap to Palau every week and also to the neighbouring Ulithi Atoll. Pacific Mission Aviation also flies from Yap to the islands of Fais and Woleai on an on-demand basis.
Pacific Mission Aviation is an FAA certified flying service and flies the island routes with two Beechcraft King Airs, two Beechcraft Queen Airs and one Britten-Norman Islander (all twin-engine aircraft).

Visa Requirements When Traveling to Yap
If your travel to the islands of Yap requires you to transit through Palau or Guam then there are specific visa requirements that you should be aware of to ensure a streamlined transit experience.
Travel to Yap via Palau
All visitors to Yap through Palau must have a valid passport not less than six months from expiry, plus proof of return arrangements.
Visas are NOT required. A 30-day Tourist Visa will be issued upon arrival and may be extended with approval of the Chief of Immigration for a fee of US$50.00 within seven days before the expiration date of the visa.
Citizens of the United States of America, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, Guam, and the Commonwealth of Northern Marianas Islands with valid passports are issued a one-year Visa upon arrival. Citizens of Myanmar and Bangladesh MUST have a pre-approved visa.
Diplomats and transit passengers are exempt from the $100 Palau Paradise Environmental Fee (PPEF), and are eligible for a cash refund upon arrival or departure by presenting a passport and a travel itinerary indicating that the $100 fee was paid.
Travel to Yap via Guam
Traveling to Yap through Guam you MUST satisfy the same entry requirements identical for any U.S. destination, even if in transit. U.S. Citizens are required to show a U.S. passport but, on a case-by-case basis a photo I.D. and proof of citizenship may be accepted. Citizens of most other countries MUST have a valid passport with a U.S. visa where required.
Entry Requirements for Visitors to Yap
All visitors arriving at Yap must have, and present, proof of citizenship or nationality by possessing a valid passport or other travel document issued by the government of the country of citizenship or nationality. The document must be valid for at least 120 days beyond the date of entry into Yap. Citizens and nationals of the Federated States of Micronesia ("FSM"), Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the United States may prove citizenship or nationality by possessing a passport, birth certificate or FSM entry permit.
Upon arrival, all non-citizens without a valid entry permit must present a completed Customs, Immigration & Quarantine Form ("CIQ Form"). This form is provided by your airline prior to arrival at the point of entry. Planning to visit the FSM for a period exceeding 30 days? You must also complete an Entry Permit. An Entry Permit is not required for a person visiting the FSM for 30 days or less.
You do not need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter Yap or any island in the FSM.
There is a Departure Fee of US$20.00 that is payable in cash-only upon check-in for your departure flight.
What to Bring to Yap
Yap enjoys a sun-tropical climate all year-round, with average temperatures in the high 80's(F) to low 90's during the day, and low 80's in the evenings. There is no formal dress-code in Yap, so dress casual and be comfortable.
- Bring loose cotton clothing, shorts, t-shirts, sarongs & sandals for the day, and light slacks/polo shirts for the evening.
- Women should cover their thighs with loose slacks, long shorts or skirts. While acceptable in most other cultures, a woman's thighs must be covered in Yap.
- Reef-safe sunscreens are available at hotels and dive shops, but if you bring your own supply please ensure it is reef-safe.
- Hats should be worn to provide shade from the strong sun, and good UV-filter sunglasses are recommended.
